Mrs. Pellin's Post
March 2nd to March 6th

Monday, March 3rd is Casimir Pulaski Day. Here's another picture of what he looks like! There is no school! Have a great day off!

This week the first graders will be reading about a lost hungry kitten and how a little boy rescues the kitten. We will write about different ways people can help animals. We will continue our "Word Wall" study and put the words in sentences.

This week the second graders will begin a writing project. They will write using the following topic sentence: If I were a leprechaun and I had a pot of gold, I would ... They will write a rough draft first and after making corrections together, they will write a final draft.

Center Cass School District # 66 is in the process of implementing an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) mandate, Response of Intervention (RTI). RTI is an array of procedures that can be used to determine if and how students respond to specific changes in instruction. RTI provides an improved process and instruction for school teams in designing, implementing, and educational interventions.
