Mrs. Pellin's Post
February 2nd to February 6th

This week I will continue progress monitorring the students in the RTI program. I will also meet with my first and second grade reading groups. The first graders will be reading about many different kinds of fish. We will continue to do picture walks and discuss the beginning, middle and endings of the stories. Then the children will write about the events in the story. In second grade we will follow the same procedure in reading a story about a baby kangaroo and a story about penguins. In both grades we will be playing games related to their spelling words.

Center Cass School District # 66 is in the process of implementing an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) mandate, Response of Intervention (RTI). RTI is an array of procedures that can be used to determine if and how students respond to specific changes in instruction. RTI provides an improved process and instruction for school teams in designing, implementing, and educational interventions.
